Travis Perkins is keenly involved in supporting the local communities in which it operates, and the Travis Perkins Group donated more than £1.8 million to worthwhile causes in 2011. The Travis Perkins Group greatly appreciates the efforts and kind donations made by its employees, customers and suppliers, and hopes to equal or better its donation to charities this year.
Four charities benefit from the fundraising activities of Travis Perkins:
Keech Hospice Care for Children
Keech children's hospice service supports families from across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes with a child or young person diagnosed with a life-limiting condition. Their staff offer medical and social care, emotional support and friendship to the whole family, throughout the child's illness and after their death, for as long as it is needed. This care is available in-house at the charity's bright and comfortable children's hospice near Luton, or via our community nursing team at the family home.
Travis Perkins reviews its supported Charities every 2 years. If you are looking for charitable support please contact our Internal Communications Manager on 01604 752424.
A charity committee helps to steer a variety of fundraising activities at branches nationwide and Travis Perkins head office throughout the year. Past events have included parachute jumps, marathons and fun runs, auctions, charity balls, ‘3 Peaks’ and ‘Beat the Moon’ challenges, car washes and much more.
To celebrate the new charity partnership with Breast Cancer Campaign, Travis Perkins adopted a pink theme, and began by re-spraying 4 of its delivery trucks bright pink. Branches across the country are taking it in turn to use the trucks in their local area when they are fundraising, so look out for a pink Travis Perkins truck near you!
Travis Perkins plc also operates Payroll Giving, enabling its employees to donate to charity directly from their salary. Travis Perkins plc matches any donation made by colleagues to its nominated charities. The company also runs a colleague lottery and salary sacrifice scheme called 'Small Change, Big Difference', where employees donate the ‘spare’ pennies from their monthly salary to the company’s nominated charities.
