Our supplier of joists fulfil the demands from house builders for greater clear spans and better dimensional stability, whilst not increasing the size of the cross section of the construction elements. STEICO joists have a high strength to weight ratio in relation to its equivalent solid timber section. Whilst steel, concrete and large section solid timber components require mechanical handling, the STEICO joists are up to 50% lighter than solid timber and maybe manually handled. Handling becomes easier, thus erection times are significantly reduced, making extensive labour cost savings.
The benefits of using STEICO Joists means we can offer:
  • Lightweight and dimensionally stable products
  • Service: design, take offs, extensive technical brochures
  • Superior strength and easy installation of services
  • Reduction in thermal bridging
  • Availability of a pre-insulated wall stud
  • An easy cutting product (with hand or machine tools)
  • Solid timber flanges – dried, machine stress graded and finger jointed. Webs from high grade natural fibreboard
  • ETA – European Technical Approval
  • National distribution
  • FSC® Certified

Door Linings and Casings

An important service, to both national house builders and specialist trades alike, is the supply of nonstandard sizes and specific patterns, available services include:
  • Standard sets bundled with or without door stops
  • Nonstandard sizes to meet customers exact specifications
  • Lining lengths of planed timber to give flexibility to joiners
  • Door linings and casings are manufactured from either Redwood, Whitewood or MDF and can be made to comply with today's stringent fire ratings
  • All linings and casings can be supplied with water based white primed

Modern moulding machines give Travis Perkins the flexibility to produce both standard and special pattern sections to meet customer requirements.
A significant investment in technology and in staff training ensures that quality, finish and presentation of all of our prepared joinery and mouldings are consistent. Special patterns and qualities can be machined to order.
Travis Perkins specialist timber branches stock a comprehensive range of white primed MDF mouldings and can also obtain special patterns to meet all requirements. MDF mouldings are stable and provide a superior finish due to the absence of knots, shakes and resin
