Celebrity House Prices: How Much Do They Spend?
Let’s admit it, we’d all love to have a peek through the keyhole of our favourite celebrities’ homes. With pay packets that we could only dream of, it’s completely understandable that we’d want a glimpse into how the other half live!
With some research, we were able to find how much some of our favourite celebrities spent on their homes, as well as the pricey renovations to make them even more glamourous…
You’d expect nothing less than a Grade II-listed country barn for the Beckham’s country home. Located in the beautiful Cotswolds, it was reported to have cost them £5million – and that’s before the renovation work!
It, of course, isn’t any old barn house. This nine-bedroom conversion consists of three barns joined at the north end by two glass-walled walkways that form the shape of a capital ‘E’. The shape of the expansive property allows for two eighty-feet wide courtyards within it and overall, the renovations were estimated to cost the wealthy family an additional £2million.
Some other luxurious extras include a natural swimming pond, a wooden pergola for entertaining guests, as well as thousands of pounds worth of mature trees (including 23 evergreen oaks, seven white oaks, eight cherry trees and nine apple trees) and top-end gardeners to design and maintain the garden to fit with the classic English country setting.
Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne
A relatively new celeb couple but one that’s already one of our favourites, Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne now both reside with baby Bear in Payne’s multi-million-pound mansion in Surrey.
However, the young family seem to be worried about a lack of space as they have renovation plans to increase the size of the original property by a whopping 71.8%! Their plans include a new garage area that will provide a passage way from the main property to the indoor pool area and additional flat.
This is not to mention Cole’s £5million mansion which she lived in for two years and is currently on the market to be rented for £17,000 a month! A little bit out of our price range…
Famously down-to-earth, Adele has chosen a property in East Grinstead away from the flashy, showbiz areas like Primrose Hill or Chipping Norton.
She might be humble, but the record-breaking singer’s house is still a £4million 18th century manor house set on 48 acres, complete with a private tennis court and treehouse. There are also three guest cottages on the grounds for her friends to stay if they fancy a country escape.
Although this seems very far from our own definition of ‘humble’ living, Adele has kept a low-profile, with even her neighbours not yet knowing who she is!
After his record-breaking year and sell-out global tour, Sheeran reportedly earned around £28million in the first half of 2017 alone! With earnings like that, we expect his pad to be pretty impressive.
The singer purchased his four-bedroom home in North London for over £8million back in 2015. Reportedly, there is a private pub connected to this house via a specially-built tunnel. It’s likely he has to stay on his best behaviour though, as he also purchased a £700,000 flat for his parents directly opposite his home!
YouTube sensations Zoe Sugg (a.k.a. Zoella) and her boyfriend Alfie Deyes live in a seven-bed detached house in West Sussex, reportedly worth £1.7 million. With four bathrooms and five reception rooms, they have plenty of space to film their popular vlogs for their combined 25 million subscribers.
Although they haven’t got any flashy and unique extras like some of our other celebs, they are clearly living in an affluent area. With a beautiful high-spec kitchen (complete with a bright orange Aga), sliding French doors leading out into a huge garden with expansive views of the picturesque South Downs, solid oak floors and a log cabin, being a vlogger can certainly pay the bills – and more!
Although it’s unlikely we’d ever be able to buy these types of properties, or afford the cost of the renovations and labour (we can’t imagine the Beckhams being into DIY!) – we can dream! Instead, we’re using them as inspiration.
