We had two of he Venetian Blinds for skylights installed a few weeks ago. Compared to the older model operation of the blinds we are disappointed. The old operation you could crank the blind up and down. You could partially open the blind, close it or open it all the way. It was positive connected with the hook and everything was controlled by the crank. With the new style, you have to fit the hook they designed into the loop and push open or push and pull closed. If you want the blinds open or closed you have to try to locate the side slide piece and then push or pull it. From the distance you have to operate the control is not easy to do. Wish they would have continued the old style blinds. They were easier to operate. For older people the new operation is more difficult.
Merchant Response We are sorry to hear you have experienced issues operating your new Venetian blinds.
Ideally, these blinds are designed for in-reach application. For out-of-reach instances, we recommend a Solar-Powered blind instead. Our Solar-Powered blinds are remote operated and will remove any need for a control rod.
We appreciate your feedback and will ensure this is passed along to our design team. Thank you for choosing VELUX!
