I would recommend and most definitely buy this item again.
This is a good strong sturdy ladder, which now allows easy safe access into our loft. It was a piece of cake to fit which I was able to complete single handed (despite the weight which wasn't in my opinion to excessive) two supporting battens screwed from underneath the loft into the ceiling joists were the key to this. The most time consuming part of the entire process was adjusting the old loft opening (which was 710x710) 28 inches square in old money, to accommodate the new ladder and hatch.

Lofty expectations
It's probably not a good sign when you spend hours researching loft ladders..... but hey ho! Long story short. this one came out top. I'm delighted to say that it exceeded my expectations. Relatively straight forward to install, although I wouldn't have fancied attempting on my own (2 man job - especially fitting the springs). But once in place it's clear to see how well made and designed this is. Fantastic folding mechanism, sturdy wooden ladder, and really decent size hatch make for simple access and a loft I will now certainly be making much more use of.

The ladder arrived very quickly and the service was most friendly and curtious. The ladder installed with no problems, considering the fact that I am a, very, novice DIY, and the house I am upgrading was built n 1900. The ladder fits like a hand in a riding glove.
