Gardening, where to start?

There’s always something to be done in the garden. Even if you think that the weather is too cold or wet to start planting your veg, that might not be the case. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gardener, you can get yourself outdoors, don the gardening gloves and grab your tools. Let’s take a look at the types of garden tools to help you get started.

Tools to get you started

It’s quite likely you’ve already got the usual garden power tools, such as lawnmower, strimmer and hedge trimmers, but it’s the smaller tools that are important to do specific tasks: pruning, sowing and planting. And let’s not forget our own safety with the use of gardening gloves, and the appropriate footwear.

Top Tip:
Keeping your gardening tools clean, with the occasional oiling, will help stop them from rusting and seizing up - ensuring they have a long working life.

Now we’re all set with the right gear and tools, we can take a month-by-month view of the jobs that you can do in your garden - keeping those green fingers busy and your garden looking great all year round.
