If this is the first jigsaw your buying, then it's a good one, for the price. I've gone from Bosch to this, it seems like I've gone back in time having to use a hex key for the bevel change, the power lead is too short, again though, not what I'm used too.

Great value purchase of this excellent Makita jigsaw.
Great value purchase of this excellent makita jigsaw. Works well on hardwoods, softwoods and flies through plywood. Not tried metals or plastics yet but I have no doubt it'll work just as well on these. Makita forever.

I would definitely buy this tool again.
This is an excellent jigsaw. It has plenty of power to cut through plywood, timber sections. It works well for both fast rip cuts and for finer detail work with the variable speed and orbital selections really useful. The tool free blade change is great too. It was available from TP at a very reasonable price. The 3 year warranty from Makita is a great bonus.

Great tool, very pleased!
I am a lady user! Makita Jigsaw was a replacement for my old Bosch. I have tried it and am very pleased with it. Makita one is heavier therefore is very steady. Makita jigsaw is surprisingly very quiet, great that the 6 blades were included, absolutely love how easy and safe is to replace the blades. The light comes on when sawing, and the dust is blown away so I can see the cutting line. A plastic protective attachment pad is included for the delicate surfaces. I haven't tried the 45 degree cutting angle yet. All and all it is an excellent tool to my collection.
