A double panel radiator has two water filled panels instead of one, so it has more surface area to transfer heat into the room. This type of radiator is used when a standard single panel radiator may not give enough output for the available wall space.

That extra output can suit colder rooms and buildings with higher heat loss, such as spaces with large windows or exposed external walls. If wall space is tight, a compact double panel radiator or a vertical double panel radiator can help you work around the layout without changing the room plan.

• Before you commit, check pipe centres, valve positions and connection points against the existing pipework.
