I built a lovely wall with these. Trump would be pleased with the outcome!

Avoid if you're plastering over them
Nice light blocks, easy to cut and move around if you're a DIY'er. BUT. They are very porous though so they suck moisture out of your mortar as soon as you put it on - even if you've moistened them as I did. The biggest problem however is when they are plastered. Avoid if you're plastering over them
Nice light blocks, easy to cut and move around if you're a DIY'er. BUT. They are very porous though so they suck moisture out of your mortar as soon as you put it on - even if you've moistened them as I did. The biggest problem however is when they are plastered. They are difficult to seal prior to plastering and so they drag all the moisture out of the scratch coat and cause it to blow and crack the finishing coat. My plasterer said it's a well known problem and if he had known I was going to use them he'd have told me to get alternative ones (denser ones). He's just been back to scrape his first attempt off and put it on again. Fortunately it was just a doorway.
